The properties of wood are complex and challenging to the furniture maker due to variation in grain, color, and inherent moisture content. We utilize a drying technique which brings the moisture to a workable and stable level before the wood is cut.

Our construction methods are steeped in the tradition of furniture that's made to last. Our wooden chair seats are tongue and groove constructed for maximum durability. Compressed tenon joinery makes the delicate spindle design of our chairbacks as sturdy as the seats. Nichols & Stone's techniques in steam bending create chairs of comfort, grace and integrity unmatched in the industry. Webbed and fibre seats are always woven by hand at Nichols & Stone.
